Some actions in Orderful trigger a chain of events — for example, a transaction being sent triggers a delivery, which may succeed, fail, or get retried. The Audit Log lets you trace this entire sequence using a Correlation ID.

How to trace a sequence

  1. Click your avatar in the top right corner and select Audit Log

  2. Find any event in the sequence you're investigating

  3. Click the row to expand it

  4. Click See related events

The Audit Log will automatically filter to show all events that share the same Correlation ID — giving you a full picture of everything that happened as part of that workflow, in order.

What is a Correlation ID?

A Correlation ID is a unique identifier that Orderful assigns to link related events together. For example, when a transaction is sent, the delivery attempts that follow will all share the same Correlation ID, so you can see the full story in one view.

Tips

  • You can also copy the Correlation ID from an expanded row and paste it into the Correlation ID filter directly — useful if you're switching between views

  • Once filtered by Correlation ID, you can add a Date range to further narrow results if the sequence spans a long period

  • The filtered URL can be copied and shared with a colleague — they'll see the same view as long as they have access to your organization's Audit Log

Frequently Asked Questions

Not all events I expected are showing up — why?

The Audit Log only includes events from the launch date onward. If part of the sequence happened before the Audit Log was released, those events won't appear.
