The Audit Log is scoped to your organization. Your trading partner has their own Audit Log for their organization. However, because some actions on a transaction involve both sides, the answer to "will they see it?" depends on the type of action.

Actions that are private to your organization

Some events are entirely internal β€” your trading partner will not see them in their Audit Log at all. These include:

  • Actions taken within your organization before a transaction is sent to your partner (e.g., rules being applied, internal validation)

  • Any action that has no effect on your trading partner's side of the transaction

Actions that are visible to both sides

Some events on a transaction are visible to both organizations, but with certain details hidden to protect each side's privacy.

For example:

  • When a transaction is sent to your partner, they will see that event β€” but your internal user details will not be shown to them

  • When your partner resends a transaction, you will see that event β€” but their user details will be hidden from your view

The principle

Your partner can see what happened on shared events, but not who in your organization did it. Orderful automatically removes user details before surfacing shared events to your partner, and vice versa.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my partner see who in my organization took an action?

No. On events visible to your partner, user details from your organization are hidden. They can see that an action occurred, but not which specific person on your team did it.

Can I see everything my partner does on their side?

No β€” the same rules apply in both directions. You will see shared events, but your partner's user details will be hidden from your view.
