Some trading partners manage their EDI testing through Edict Systems, a third-party EDI certification provider. When your trading partner uses Edict, there is no need for you to initiate outreach on your own — Orderful handles the setup and coordinates the testing process on your behalf.

How setup works

Once your connection request is received, Orderful will complete the technical setup on our end using the information we have on file. In most cases, we have everything we need to move forward without any additional outreach to your trading partner. If any details are still needed to complete the setup, Orderful will reach out to the trading partner directly to gather them before testing begins.

Once setup is complete, Orderful will contact you to coordinate the testing phase and walk you through the process using the Edict Systems online portal. No live EDI connection is required during this phase — all testing is completed through the portal.

What you will need

Once Orderful reaches out to begin testing, have the following ready:

  • The T&C portal link and registration credentials Orderful will provide

  • A credit card or company check to pay the one-time portal access fee (typically $400–$600 depending on the trading partner — log in to confirm the exact amount before paying)

  • Your EDI test data files, prepared for upload

How testing works

  1. Open the Edict portal link provided by Orderful. Click the drop-down menu in the upper left corner to view your trading partner's EDI requirements and specifications.

  2. Click Log In in the upper right corner, then New User? Register. Use the credentials (ID and ZIP code) provided with the link.

  3. After completing the registration form, you will receive a username and password by email automatically.

  4. Log back in and select Pay Account Balance. The one-time fee covers 30 days of unlimited portal access. Payment can be made by credit card or check via the invoice on the site.

  5. Once payment is complete, go to Download/Upload Test Data to complete the testing steps. The portal will guide you through uploading your EDI documents for review.

Support during testing

If you need help at any point during testing, Edict Systems support is available:

  • Phone: 800-443-3428, option 2

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8AM–8PM EST

After testing is complete

Once you have successfully completed testing through the Edict portal, your connection will move to the production cutover phase. Orderful will be in touch to coordinate next steps.
