How to migrate your direct AS2 connection with Kohl's to Orderful.
Kohl's is migrating all of its direct AS2 vendor connections to Orderful, a modern EDI platform for exchanging documents with Kohl's going forward. You'll set up your connection through Orderful and complete connectivity testing before a scheduled cutover window, when Kohl's and Orderful coordinate the switch together. The process is straightforward — most vendors complete it in 1–2 business days once connectivity credentials are in hand.

What you need before starting
An Orderful account. Orderful is free to join as a trading partner. If you don't already have one, you'll create it in Step 1.
Your connectivity method and credentials. Decide whether you'll connect via AS2 (recommended for direct EDI connections) or SFTP (file-based transfer over a secure FTP server), and have the corresponding credentials ready.
The team member who manages your EDI setup available to configure the communication channel and run the connectivity tests.
The six steps
Create your Orderful account. Go to ui.orderful.com and sign up. If you don't receive an invitation email, email [email protected] and the team will send one. Once signed in, confirm your organization name and time zone under Settings > Organization.
Set up your connectivity. Add your communication channel in the Orderful UI under Communication Channels > Create New. AS2 is bi-directional, so only an Inbound channel is required. Verify your document scope. Kohl's has pre-configured the required EDI transaction types in Orderful. Confirm they appear under the Relationships tab. If any expected transaction types are missing or the partnership doesn't appear, contact [email protected] and [email protected].
Test your communication channel. Two connectivity tests are required, and both must pass before go-live. See the Testing section below for details.
Confirm readiness and schedule your cutover. Once both directions of the connectivity test succeed, email [email protected] and [email protected] to confirm, then book your cutover window using the Kohl's AS2 Migration booking link. The appointment includes both the Orderful onboarding team and a Kohl's EDI contact so the switch can be coordinated in real time.
Go live. During your scheduled cutover window, the Orderful and Kohl's teams flip your connection from the legacy AS2 endpoint to Orderful. Your live AS2 transactions then route through Orderful going forward. Monitor your first few live transactions under the Transactions tab to confirm successful delivery.
Testing
There are two connectivity tests required, and both directions must succeed before you schedule your cutover:
From Orderful to your system. In the Orderful UI, find your communication channel and use the built-in connectivity test to send a test message to yourself.
From your system to Orderful. Send a test transaction from your EDI system to Orderful using your newly configured channel credentials.
Scheduling your cutover
After both connectivity tests pass and you've confirmed by email, book a cutover window using the Kohl's AS2 Migration booking link. This time block is shared with both the Kohl's and Orderful teams, who join to coordinate the switch and confirm your first live transactions.

Do I have to migrate?
