What Happens If Direct Outreach Is Unnecessary?

Some trading partners do not require direct outreach from Orderful. Here are the main scenarios where that applies.

Not every trading partner requires direct outreach from Orderful. In some cases, the partner is already set up in a way that allows Orderful to configure the connection without contacting them first.

When this applies

Partners that connect through a common EDI platform. Some partners connect through third-party EDI platforms (like SPS Commerce, Edict Systems, or certain shared VAN routings). In some cases, these platforms provide a standardized route that allows Orderful to configure the connection without direct outreach to the trading partner. This can apply to both new and existing partners.

โš ๏ธ Note: Customers may need to take certain steps in the VAN's portal to help complete setup and testing.

Partners with their own defined processes. Some trading partners, such as Walmart, Amazon, and Target, have specific processes that do not involve direct outreach from Orderful. These are handled through their own defined channels.

Other Orderful customers. If the trading partner is itself an Orderful customer, the connection can be established directly within the Orderful network without outreach to the partner's external contacts.

Skip Outreach trade requests. If the customer has chosen to handle partner communication themselves, or has chosen to wait before outreach begins, Orderful will not reach out to the trading partner. We will either proceed using information the customer has provided, or pause until the customer is ready to move forward.
